2 Mar 2010 --- Sabinsa introduces Boswellin PS, a natural extract from the gum resin of Boswellia serrata (Indian frankincense), with enhanced water solubility and joint health support potential. Sabinsa will debut Boswellin PS at SupplyExpo booth # 313 at the Anaheim Convention Center, in Anaheim, California March 12 – 14, 2010.

In addition to boswellic acids, (the active principles for which Boswellia extracts are conventionally standardized), the PS version contains Polysal, a natural polysaccharide from the gum resin of Boswellia serrata. Moreover, the PS version with a two stage active constituents release profile provides longer lasting benefits than conventional Boswellia serrata extracts that are based on boswellic acids alone. Both boswellic acids (more specifically Acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid, AKBBA, the most effective of the boswellic acids, present in enriched concentrations in Boswellin PS) and Polysal are effective in reducing the markers of inflammation, with benefits in managing the symptoms of discomfort associated with conditions such as arthritis. Two stage action refers to the initial healthful effects of the water soluble Polysal, that are later sustained by the more slowly absorbed lipophilic boswellic acids, AKBBA in particular.
