Aug 26 2010 --- Highly stressed hospital workers in Japan reported improved psychological well-being after taking Wellmune WGP for two weeks, according to a new peer-reviewed study published in Biotherapy, the official journal of the Japan Society for Biological Therapy.

The research, which was conducted at a hospital specializing in dialysis, found that staff members taking one 125 mg capsule of Wellmune WGP daily for 30 days reported improved vigor and reduced depression, anger and fatigue. The results were statistically significant (p<0.05).

“The results are consistent with the data of five clinical studies Biothera has conducted with Wellmune WGP in the U.S.,” said Richard Mueller, president of Biothera’s Healthcare Group. “The body of research supporting Wellmune WGP demonstrates that this unique ingredient naturally enhances the immune system to protect against potentially harmful effects of physical and psychological stress.”

In previous clinical studies involving marathoners, firefighters and individuals with stressful lifestyles, Wellmune WGP reduced the incidence of upper respiratory tract infection symptoms and improved psychological well-being. Like previous studies, researchers in Japan used a Profile of Mood States (POMS) psychological survey to assess changed in mental and physical energy levels and sense of overall well-being.

The study was conducted by Dr. Tsunesuke Kajimoto and Mayu Nozaki of Nippon Biothera Co., Ltd. and Hiroaki Sugisaki of the Fuchu Renal Disease Clinic Shinshikai Medical Corporation.
