9 Apr 2010 --- Sabinsa Corporation’s R&D group has found applications for the company’s proprietary multifaceted antioxidant ingredient Saberry for cosmetic use. This color-less, water-soluble ingredient will be useful in cosmetic applications worldwide, with particular interest in hair care, anti-aging Nutricosmetic, and sun care and after sun care formulations.

Sabinsa will showcase Saberry in stand A104 at in-cosmetics, April 13 – 15, 2010 at the Paris Porte de Versailles, Paris, France. Saberry, a patent pending natural extract of Amla (Indian gooseberry) recently described in a peer-reviewed publication, is an antioxidant super fruit used in the Ayurvedic tradition as a ‘rasayana’, or tonic, in multiple compositions to support general health maintenance and the management of various health conditions. It is a rejuvenating herb known to increase resistance to stress, making it ideal for anti-aging cosmetic products. Sabinsa discovered new standardized bio-markers prior to introducing the product in January 2009. Saberry is a light colored powder and is processed from carefully chosen, fresh Indian gooseberries using proprietary technology to preserve efficacy.

Amla extract helps protect against the damaging effects of free radicals and heavy metal-induced oxidative stress.
